USJ lost and found: reporting an item after Universal Studios Japan
How to report a lost phone, bag, wallet, or souvenir at Universal Studios Japan, including the in-park desk, outside entrance, and post-visit form.
Last verified: August 9, 2026

Short answer
Inside Universal Studios Japan, ask a Crew Member or use Guest Services. The official service guide places the Lost & Found Center to the left outside the Park after the Entry Arches and says it handles lost-item inquiries and found-item deposits. If you have already left Japan, use the official lost-item registration form linked from the USJ service guide and give the exact area, time, and item details.

What to do
- 1
Identify the exact USJ area
Separate inside the park, Guest Services, the outside Lost & Found Center, lockers, parking, Universal City, hotel, and transportation.
- 2
Use the official USJ route
Ask a Crew Member or Guest Services while inside; after leaving, use the official lost-item registration form linked from the service guide.
- 3
Give a search-ready description
Include date, time, attraction or shop, route, brand, color, size, contents, serial number, and distinctive marks.
- 4
Confirm re-entry and return rules
Ask whether a representative or domestic shipment is allowed. Do not assume a standard Studio Pass permits re-entry to retrieve an item.
USJ has more than one useful service point
The official USJ service guide separates Guest Services from the Lost & Found Center. Guest Services is inside the park to the left after the ticket gates and provides general visitor support. The Lost & Found Center is to the left outside the park after the Entry Arches and handles lost-item inquiries and deposits of found items.
This location distinction is useful if you have already passed through the entrance or left the park. Write whether the item was lost before the gates, inside a ride or restaurant, in a shop, near a locker, in the parking area, or on transportation. A vague “at USJ” report can be difficult to match.
If you are still visiting the park
Ask a nearby Crew Member as soon as you notice the loss. Give the last confirmed location, the time window, the direction you walked, and the item description. If you used the official app, a ride reservation, a restaurant receipt, or a payment record, use it to reconstruct your route.
For a phone, lock the device and contact the carrier or issuer before spending time searching. For a passport, residence card, credit card, or medication, treat the loss as an authority or account-safety issue as well as a park lost-and-found issue.
If you have exited or returned home
USJ's service guide links to its lost-item registration form for inquiries from outside the park. Use the official page, not a third-party form or an unverified phone number. The form should include the visit date, approximate time, park area, attraction or shop, route after the last sighting, item category, brand, color, size, contents, and distinctive marks.
If you lost something at a partner hotel, a train station, the Universal City area, or a taxi rather than inside USJ, report it to that separate holder too. A theme park page cannot search a railway or hotel system.
Do not assume re-entry is available for retrieval
The USJ guide warns that Studio Passes other than Annual Passes do not permit re-entry to the park after exiting, including to retrieve items from a locker outside the park or a car in the parking area. This makes the official service route important: ask the team how to proceed instead of attempting to re-enter with the same ticket.
The holder decides whether the item can be collected by another person, sent domestically, or released after identity verification. We can help write and route an inquiry in Japanese, but we cannot guarantee a find, override park rules, or promise international shipping.
Prepare a recovery handoff that will survive translation
Use one short sentence per fact. “Black phone, blue case, lost near the entrance at 14:20 on 7 August” is easier to translate and search than a paragraph mixing several possible locations. If there are several possible items, submit them as separate records when the official form requires one item per report.
Never send a full payment-card number, account password, device passcode, or passport scan to a random contact. Confirm the official recipient and the minimum documents required before sharing sensitive information.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the USJ Lost & Found Center?
The official service guide places it to the left outside the Park after the Entry Arches. Guest Services is a separate service point inside the park.
Can I report a USJ item after leaving Japan?
Yes. Use the official lost-item registration form linked from the USJ service guide and include the exact area, time, item details, and a Japanese handoff plan if needed.
Can I re-enter USJ to look for an item?
The official guide says Studio Passes other than Annual Passes do not permit re-entry after exiting, including to retrieve items from a locker or car. Ask USJ for the current procedure.
What if I lost the item at a USJ hotel or train?
Contact the hotel or transport operator separately. The park's lost-and-found desk cannot search another organization's custody system.
Can someone in Japan collect my USJ item?
Possibly, but USJ decides. Ask for the authorization, identification, delivery address, deadline, and shipping restrictions before sending documents.
